It’s best to be very informed as to certain matters when taking care of your baby. And you know from my piece on Pointer Broom Luck that I don’t believe in taking chances. One or two things immediately come to mind, but I’m sure that you’re not going to make the mistake of thinking that my few mentions are the full list. Make sure that you stay alert, and, when in doubt, don’t take a chance.
Now, as I know it, if you cut a baby's fingernails with a nail clip when they're too young, then this is not a good thing. If you are the errant parent or caregiver and make this mistake, you increase the possibility--dare I say, even create the likelihood--that the baby will grow up to be a thief. The preferred method is to use a needle to prick away the soft nails. And how long should you wait? Well, I hear that it's safest to wait until they're one year old. But maybe you've heard different?
And while we’re talking about cutting a baby’s nails, what about cutting a baby’s hair? As I know it, you should pay a baby at his first haircut. And everyone knows that this first haircut had better not be before the baby’s first birthday, or before the baby says his first words. Now, I’ve said before that there doesn’t always have to be a reason for good advice, but everyone knows that a too-early haircut can have a tendency to hinder a baby talking. And it’s practically general knowledge in many circles that you should hold on to some of a baby’s first haircut.
Of course, everyone knows that you should pass a baby facing forward because only the dead are passed back first. And more than one person shouldn’t dress a baby—or anyone, really—because only the dead are dressed by more than one person. And you know that it's best to dress a baby with some red; and some gold is also good. And a baby wearing red and gold can ensure that you don't have to deal with a baby getting sick, or worse, from bad eye.
As I know it, you should be informed as to certain matters when taking care of your baby: Stay alert, and when in doubt don’t take a chance. How do you know it?
